So how does one celebrate poetry?
Read it? Write it?
Sure you can, but there are also lots of other things you can do throughout April (and beyond) to celebrate what Edgar Allan Poe calls “the rhythmical creation of beauty in words.”
– Participate in Poem in your Pocket day, April 24.
– Sign up to get a poem every day delivered to your inbox.
– Attend a poetry reading. And, what luck, there’s one tonight. Hannah Gamble will be sharing her poetry today at 7pm in the Ammons Lounge, A107 Tribble Hall.
– Spread the love of your favorite poetry by leaving it in unexpected places. In a returned library book, on the table at Starbucks, on the stall in the bathroom — everyone loves a good find.
